Our ESG approach

An active commitment applied along the entire real estate value creation chain

Ofi Invest Real Estate SAS pursues a proactive policy of integrating ESG (environmental, social and governance) criteria throughout its value chain.

Responsible investment strategy

The real estate sector is at the crossroads of a number of challenges, from the fight against climate change to the health and comfort of users, and accessibility. Efforts in the sector focus primarily on the existing building stock, which will represent the vast majority of Europe’s building stock by 2050 (source: European Commission).

That is why, as a responsible real estate investor, we invest both in:

Modern assets built to the highest ESG standards, going beyond regulations or benchmarks;
Older assets, where we implement ESG improvements during our ownership.

We therefore analyse the ESG performance of assets as soon as we acquire them, using an internal methodology, and incorporate improvement actions into business plans.

ESG audits

We conduct ESG audits of assets under management and implement multi-year action plans to improve the ESG performance of the buildings in our portfolio. ESG audits are also conducted as part of pre-acquisition due diligence, and the findings are incorporated into asset business plans.

Carbon footprint

We take steps to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions in our existing buildings. Materials and equipment are selected to ensure the sustainability of our investments, and we prioritise eco-labelled and/or recyclable materials with low pollutant emissions for construction and renovation.

Certifications and environmental labels

For development projects, the best environmental certifications and labels are systematically sought, and contractors working on sites on behalf of Ofi Invest Real Estate contribute to the achievement of this policy by signing an Environmental Charter.
